Forex Infrastructure FAQ

Answers to common questions about VPS, dedicated server capacity, MetaTrader hosting and White Label infrastructure.

Key planning points

✦

Forex VPS

A remote server used to keep trading terminals and automated workflows online.

✦

Dedicated vs VPS

Dedicated servers offer isolated physical resources for more demanding or critical workloads.

✦

White Label

A branded platform solution combined with supporting infrastructure and integrations.

VPS and terminal hosting

What is a Forex VPS used for?

A Forex VPS provides a remote environment for trading terminals and supporting applications. It can keep them independent of a personal workstation, but application setup, monitoring and recovery still need to be planned. See Forex VPS hosting.

What is the difference between MT4 VPS and MT4 server hosting?

An MT4 VPS hosts client terminals. MT4 server infrastructure concerns licensed broker-side components and has different platform rights, topology and operational requirements.

How much CPU and memory do MT4 or MT5 terminals need?

That depends on the terminals, charts, EAs and other applications running at the same time. Share representative utilisation measurements and peak activity; terminal count alone does not establish a reliable resource specification.

Will an Expert Advisor resume after a restart?

Only a tested application recovery process can establish that. Windows session behaviour, startup settings, terminal login and EA state all matter. Review the EA VPS checklist before relying on automatic recovery.

Servers, connectivity and operations

When should I consider a dedicated server?

Consider dedicated hosting when the measured workload, isolation needs or application requirements justify it. Dedicated hardware alone does not create a redundant or highly available architecture.

Does a low ping guarantee fast order execution?

No. Ping measures one aspect of connectivity. Application behaviour, broker or API processing, market conditions and other dependencies also affect execution. Compare the actual endpoints using the location planning guide.

Are backups and server management included?

The proposal should explicitly state backup coverage, retention, restore testing, monitoring and maintenance responsibilities. Do not infer a managed service or a service level from a hosting product name.

Can research and live trading share a machine?

The effect of testing, optimisation and data processing on live applications needs to be assessed. The algorithmic trading infrastructure guide explains workload and deployment boundaries.

White Label and project scope

Does infrastructure hosting include a MetaTrader broker licence?

No. Computing resources do not grant platform rights. Platform availability, permitted deployment, branding and administrative access are subject to the authorised provider and applicable agreements.

What should a White Label proposal identify?

It should distinguish platform access, permitted branding, hosting, integrations, recurring costs and support ownership. Compare the MT4 and MT5 White Label scoping guides.

Can existing CRM, dashboards and other tools be connected?

The products, interfaces, permissions and responsibilities must be reviewed individually. Use the broker infrastructure or prop trading infrastructure guide to prepare an inventory.

What should I send for an infrastructure proposal?

Send the intended use, applications, existing platform rights, expected workload, external dependencies and preferred region. Include recovery needs and timing so the team can prepare a scoped proposal.

Ready to deploy?
